UPDATE: Officials lifted the boil water notice July 15.

FROM STAFF REPORTS

MEADOWLAKES — City of Meadowlakes officials are asking residents to boil water before consumption July 14 due to reduced pressure in the system.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the boil water notification to ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes in water used for drinking, cooking and making ice.

“The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes,” a city of Meadowlakes notice stated. “In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.”

City officials will notify residents when the water is safe for consumption without needing to boil it.
