Mustang nation goes all out for homecoming

Mustang nation turned out in full force on Friday, Sept. 18, as Marble Falls football took on the Liberal Arts and Science Academy of Austin during homecoming weekend.

Decked out in mums, garters, and purple pride, the stands were packed with several hundred supporters as the Mustangs defeated the Raptors in a 55-0 shutout.

A patriotic flyover prefaced the game, with a World War II era aircraft roaring above Mustang Stadium before kickoff, priming the audience for the Mustangs’ initial offensive run, which led to two touchdowns in the opening minutes of the contest.

During halftime, the 10 nominees of the homecoming court–Beckett Berkman, Branson Bunting, Jett Marcum, Arnulfo “Nufo” Salazar, John Alan Whittle, Sierra Fargo, Camilla Montoya, Ivanna Quintilla, Arianna Ruiz, and Hanna Welch–shuffled their way across centerfield with their families in tow.

Amid the cheers of the home crowd, Mustang football captain Nufo Salazar was crowned the 2026 homecoming king and Starlett Arianna Ruiz the queen.

After a handful of quick photo ops with members of the court, and a fiery performance of the Mustang band’s show, “Ignite,” the game resumed, eventually ending in an overwhelming victory to put the ‘Stangs at an even 2-2 this season.
