Blaze behind Bealls in Marble Falls under investigation

The Marble Falls fire marshal is investigating a blaze, believed to have been set by a lit cigarette, in a utility trailer that was parked in the 1500 block of Pony Circle across the street from Marble Falls Middle School and in the rear parking lot of Bealls. Crews responded about 6 p.m. Oct. 1 and moved the truck away from the retail-store building as they fought the fire. Witnesses told investigators they saw a male, possibly in his teens, throw a cigarette into the pile of recycled boxes stacked in the trailer. Staff photos
