Burnet 7th B beats Llano, places third at tourney

BURNET — The Burnet Middle School seventh-grade B team recently picked up some big wins.

The Lady Dawgs swept Llano 25-10, 25-21 on Sept. 23 and was third out of eight teams at the Hays Trail Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 21. The Lady Dawgs defeated Del Valle 25-11, 25-6 and Boerne 25-22, 21-25, 15-9 but lost to Wimberley 25-21, 20-25, 7-15 at the tourney. Makenna Delill was chosen as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

QUOTABLE: “I was very proud of how hard the girls worked throughout the tournament and did not give up when they were down in the final game,” Burnet coach Tamura Hurst said.

Burnet 7th B beats Llano, finishes second at tourney 

BURNET — The Burnet Middle School eighth-grade B volleyball team beat Llano 25-22, 25-20 on Sept. 23 and was the runner-up at the Hays Trail Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 21.

At the tournament, the Lady Dawgs defeated Del Valle 25-18, 25-5 and Wimberley 26-24, 25-16 but lost to Dripping Springs 19-25, 10-25. Chelsea Bible was chosen the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

TOP SERVERS: Kat Cain, Chelsea Bible, Elyssa Lopez.
