Jessica Lee Rickaby Hudson, 26, of Burnet, Texas, passed away July 3, 2013, at Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock after a long battle with cancer. Jessie was born Jan. 29, 1987, in Temple.
She graduated from Burnet High School in 2005. She also served as a firefighter for the Hoover Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
Jessie was an amazing young lady who was always smiling and never let her breast cancer get the better of her spirit. She had a laugh that was contagious. She had a love for music, movies, science and reading. Jessie also enjoyed gaming with her friends and family, sewing and traveling.
Her first loves were her children, Annalise and Connor. She married the love of her life on Oct. 6, 2012, and it was one of the happiest moments of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Hudson of Melbourne, Australia; children, Annalise Victoria Rickaby and William Connor Daniels; parents, Jim and Diane Blair of Burnet; sisters Brianna Blair and Christie Blair, both of Burnet; brothers, Aaron Blair of Kingsland and Shane Blair of Burnet; grandmother, Edna Rickaby of Burnet; and several nieces and nephews.
Jessie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Kenneth H. Rickaby; aunt, Donna G. Rickaby; and uncle, Kenneth W. Rickaby.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Jessie by sharing memories and stories of her life at 11 a.m. July 13 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
