Jimmy Lowell Dunn was born Dec. 22, 1935. God called him home May 4, 2013. He was the oldest of four children.

He married Dolores Miles on Dec. 14, 1957. He joined the military in 1958 and served his country in the United States Army. While in the Army, he was stationed in Colorado, Washington and Louisiana. After leaving the military, he returned to Texas but worked in New Mexico on road construction crews most of his life. Even in retirement, he continued to help build roads.

Jimmy loved being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and took many hunting trips to Colorado and New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolores Dunn; brother Sammy Burton and wife Nancy of Burnet; sister, Sue Johns and husband David of Burnet; sister-in-law Darlene Cude of Austin; and brother-in-law Harold Miles of Austin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Oscar Burton, and brother Don Burton.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. May 8 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. Interment will follow at Holland Cemetery. Officiating will be James Hoover.
