Reveille Peak Ranch celebrates spring and a spectacular wildflower season with the Bluebonnet Adventure Fest on April 20-21. The weekend is packed with adventurous fun, including an off-road triathlon, live music, a kids fishing derby and adventure racing.
The folks at Reveille Peak Ranch have linked up with one of the premier adventure racing producers, Terra Firma Racing, to put on the Bluebonnet Adventure Race on Saturday. The race covers three to four miles of trail running, seven to 14 miles of mountain biking, a 25 to 35 minute canoe ride with mystery events. You can participate in the two-hour race involves solo or as a two-person team.
A kids’ adventure race follows the conclusion of the adult race, which should be at about 11:30 a.m. Parents are allowed to race with the younger kids. Entry to the kids’ event is free, but $10 fee will be charged at the entrance to the ranch.
Terra Firma stages the XTERRA 5K and 15K trail runs as well on Saturday. Both routes wind through bluebonnets and other wildflowers, granite outcroppings and beautiful Hill Country scenery.
On Sunday, Race Revolutions presents the Pure Austin Fitness XTERRA Bluebonnet Off-Road Triathlon. Yes, you run, you bike, you swim through the beautiful, but tough terrain of the Central Texas Hill Country.
Whether you just want to take in the festivities or be a participant, the Bluebonnet Adventure Fest is a great way to celebrate spring. Onsite camping is available.
