Marble Falls boys lose to Bastrop

BASTROP — The Marble Falls High School boys basketball team lost to Bastrop 66-50 on Dec. 11.

The Mustangs trailed 18-9 after the first period but outscored the Bears 13-9 in the second.

Still, Bastrop dropped in 39 points in the second half en route to the victory.

Mustangs head coach Neil Laminack said the team had too many unforced turnovers.

"That’s part of the evolution of learning how to play," he said.

Marble Falls senior guard Joey Blackledge’s 12-of-14 points were courtesy of four 3-pointers.

TOP PLAYERS: Points — Joey Blackledge and Frederic Filsoof 14 each

QUOTABLE: "Blackledge and Filsoof played well. Now it’s a matter of getting five guys to play well," Marble Falls head coach Neil Laminack said.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 4-9.
