Faith Academy girls continue winning streak against Blanco

BLANCO — The Faith Academy of Marble Falls girls basketball team earned its 11th consecutive win of the season with a 62-42 victory against Blanco on Dec 11.

The Lady Flames led 12-10 after the first quarter and then gave up a combined total of 10 points in the second and third periods.

Meanwhile, Faith dropped in 20 points in the second and 15 in the third to build a 47-20 lead headed into the final period.

Faith head coach Jerry English said he thought his players hit a little bit of a lull to start the contest but found some energy in the next two periods and credited juniors Juliette Fisher, Kristen Cherry and Joanna Piatek with the improvement.

"We attacked the zone really well," he said. "Kristen, Julliette and Joanna are going to the rim really hard. I think this is a big step."
