Lady Mustangs beat Del Valle on Parents’ Night

MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School girls basketball team ensured everyone enjoyed Parents’ Night with a 48-29 victory against Del Valle on Nov. 27.

The Lady Mustangs only had an 8-3 lead after the first period but stepped up the pace in the second quarter where they outscored the Lady Cardinals 22-11 for a 30-14 lead en route to the win.

"Del Valle had a good defensive scheme and slowed us down," Lady Mustangs head coach Chris Jost said. "We made some adjustments to improve on what we were doing."

He credited junior guard Blanca Fonseca and senior forward Katy Bartels with leading the runs to help Marble Falls to the win.

QUOTABLE: "Our girls are playing with a lot of confidence right now," Jost said.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 7-3.
