BURNET — The Burnet High School girls basketball team enjoyed its best offensive performance of the season Nov. 20, according to head coach Mike Cavender. The Lady Dawgs defeated Wimberley 66-45.

"We have a lot of young kids, and the game is being slow down for them where better decisions can be made," Cavender said.

The Texans capped baskets with drives to the hoop during the first half or took advantage of Lady Dawg fouls, the coach said.

"In the second half, we did a much better job but left plenty of room for improvement," he said. "Rebounding was a big key for us. Our ‘bigs’ did a nice job of surrounding the basket and limiting their opportunities."

ON OFFENSE: Points — Riley Scott 20, Sarah Poe 17, Riana Bond and Bryanika Grady 11 each, Lauren Beckwith 5, Valarie Solis 2

RECORDS: Burnet is 4-3.
