Burnet Bulldogs face Fredericksburg in bi-district basketball
BURNET — After finishing the District 25-3A campaign in second place, the Burnet High School Bulldogs turn their attention to the Class 3A playoffs.
That starts with Fredericksburg (21-12, 7-4), the third-place team out of District 26-3A, in the bi-district round of the playoffs 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at Max Copeland Gym at Marble Falls High School, 2101 Mustang Drive in Marble Falls. Burnet is the home team.
The winner faces San Antonio Houston (22-3) the District 28-3A champion, Feb. 23 or 24 with site and time to be determined.
TOP PLAYERS: Fredericksburg – Tyler Tomlinson 9.5 points, 1.1 assists and 1.6 assists per game, Dominic Carion 9.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Burnet – Grant Cole 16.0 points per game and his .830 free throw percentage is second and his .311 three-point percentage is 32nd in the Austin area
ON OFFENSE: Fredericksburg — Tate Powell 7.0 points, 1.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. Burnet – Jacob Pollard 12.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. His .506 field goal percentage is 13th in the Austin area.
ON DEFENSE: Fredericksburg — 9.3 steals and 29.2 rebounds (team average) per game. Burnet – average 49.3 points per game and allows 45.3 points per game.
RECORDS: Burnet is 16-13, 7-3; Fredericksburg is 21-12, 7-4
