Flames make first playoff appearance in team’s history
MARBLE FALLS — The task was daunting but quite simple for the Faith Academy boys basketball team Feb. 6 — win or turn in their uniforms.
The Flames (9-14, 5-7) needed to earn two victories in three days to advance to the playoffs for the first time in the program’s history.
And they did that, beating Cedar Park Summit 50-28 Feb. 9 and Temple Holy Trinity 50-40 Feb. 7. Head coach John Berkman guided the Flames to the playoffs in his second year leading the team.
