Mustangs start strong, but fall to Vista Ridge
CEDAR PARK — The Marble Falls High School boys basketball team got the start it needed against Cedar Park Vista Ridge on Jan. 11 but couldn’t finish.
The Mustangs (7-18, 0-3) raced to a 10-4 lead in the first period, but a two-point offensive effort in the second period led to a 53-42 loss.
"The second quarter was the difference in the game," Mustangs head coach Bruce Etheridge said.
The guards didn’t get the ball enough to junior post Rey Baltazar, who was working very hard to get open in the paint, Etheridge said. The coach added he was happy with the post’s efforts in calling for the ball.
