Mustangs lose to Austin High; Bulldogs beat Bangs
Austin High 63, Marble Falls 51
AUSTIN — The Austin High School Maroons took a 20-12 lead in the first quarter Dec. 20 against the Marble Falls High School boys basketball team and never looked back.
Though both teams scored 17 and nine points in the second and third quarters, the Maroons outpaced the Mustangs 17-13 in the final period.
TOP PLAYERS: MF – Rey Baltazar, 17 points; Garrett Gray, 15. AH – Chris Moore, 15 points; Dorian Parks, 13; Mario Trevino 11.
ON OFFENSE: MF – Colin Edwards and Jay Watson, 5 points each; J.T. Watson, 3; Clynt Powell, Gayln Griffin and Rex Printz, 2 each. AH – Winzel Sterling and Jon Brodnaz, 6 each; Blake Mascheck and Cole Carper,4 each; Matt Jones, 2; Patrick Strake and Christian Berg, 1 each.
RECORDS: Marble Falls is 4-12; Austin is 11-2.

GOLDTHWAITE — After trailing 20-19 at the half, the Burnet High School Bulldogs enjoyed one of their most productive quarters of the season on both ends of the floor Dec. 20.
The team dropped in 21 points and limited Bangs to four points in the third period.
TOP PLAYERS: Senior guard Grant Cole scored 20 points, while sophomore guard Derek Kiser added 12 and junior forward Jordan Barnard finished with 10.
ON OFFENSE: Senior post Jacob Pollard, 9 points; senior post Demone Belmarez, 2 points.
