Lady Flames keep Thrall in check in 47-34 win
MARBLE FALLS — The Faith Academy girls basketball team forced its will on a Thrall squad that simply did all it could to frustrate the Lady Flames Friday.
Thrall slowed the tempo and forced Faith to work in the half-court defense. But it wasn’t enough as the Lady Flames prevailed 47-34.
“The other team was very, very methodical, almost to a stall,” head coach Jerry English said. “They might make 15-16 passes before they would attempt the shot. That drove the kids crazy and me crazy.”
But in the second half, the Lady Flames picked up the defensive intensity.
That led to fastbreak opportunities simply because English instructed his athletes to play closer to their offensive counterparts instead of staying near the basket.
