Lady Dawgs basketball team ‘looking good so far’

BURNET — With at least three athletes busy helping the Burnet High School volleyball team in its postseason run, some were unsure of what the Lady Dawgs basketball team was going to look like.

But head coach Mike Cavender isn’t worried.

So far, the Lady Dawgs have beaten Manor in all four periods and Austin Lanier in three of four quarters.

"We’re looking good so far," Cavender said.

Still, he saw a couple of areas he’d like to see improve — pressure offense and rebounding.

"We definitely need to work on our handling pressure with our ball handlers," he said. "I feel like we’re going in the right direction in that."
