Bulldogs win big against Bandera
BANDERA — Burnet High School completed non-district competition with a convincing victory Friday.
Burnet beat Bandera High School 45-20 at Bandera Stadium.
The Bulldogs finished their non-district campaign with a 2-2 record.
As the first quarter got under way, Burnet scored during their first two possessions and posted a 14-0 lead.
Halfback Zach Maldonado returned a Bandera punt 77 yards for a touchdown. The point-after touchdown attempt failed.
Later in the quarter, halfback Demone Belmarez ran the ball five yards for the second Bulldogs touchdown.
Quarterback Weston Cozby carried the ball into the end zone for a successful two-point conversion.
Soon after the second quarter got started, Burnet wide receiver Aaron Johns hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass from Cozby. Kicker Austin Huff nailed the extra point to put Burnet up 21-0.
