Flames blank Warriors
KILLEEN — The Faith Academy Flames shut out Killeen Memorial Christian Academy, 46-0, Friday in the first game of the season.
The Flames’ offense not only managed to run away with the game, but the defense shut down the Warriors allowing no points and no first downs.
Faith ended the game in the third quarter when freshman receiver Royale Brown hauled in a Jake Diamond pass and ran it in for a touchdown. The score gave the Flames a 44-0 edge, but a two-point conversion kick by Brian Freeman ended the game under the 45-point mercy rule.
In six-man football, if one squad has a 45-point or more lead at halftime or any time in the second half, the game ends.
Faith, in its season opener, demonstrated a well-balanced team.
