HORSESHOE BAY — Gary Parsons loves to play golf. But Monday, he’ll put that love to the test when he tackles at least 100 holes in one day.

“It’s going to be tough — no doubt,” the Horseshoe Bay Resort assistant golf professional said. “I’ll play six rounds of golf altogether. And, you’re looking at averaging two hours per round.”

So that’s 12 hours of golf in the Texas summer heat.

“I’m not kidding myself in thinking it won’t be grueling,” Parsons said.

Why do it then?

“It’s to help support the Boys & Girls Club of the Highland Lakes,” he said.

The fundraiser is organized through the Professional Golfers Association and the Southern Texas PGA Foundation. Parsons said the event is open to golf professionals across the United States from the end of June to Friday.
