Golf association supports The First Tee of Greater Austin

AUSTIN — The Hill Country Men’s Golf Association presented $1,130 to The First Tee of Greater Austin on May 16.

HCMGA members gives annual support to the nonprofit organization, which teaches life skills and core values to youth through golf. In 2010, The First Tee served 1,300 children from the greater Austin community.

After the presentation, HCMGA members competed in a four-man, three-best-ball net score event.

The HCMGA was formed 15 years ago to provide Horseshoe Bay and other Hill Country golfers the opportunity to play high-quality area courses in the spirit of friendly competition. The association conducts five tournaments each year with an end-of-year match play championship for those members who qualify via their success in at least two of the five tournaments.
