Mustangs start feeling comfortable with each other
MARBLE FALLS — A young Marble Falls High School boys basketball took on more experienced Amateur Athletic Union teams during a tournament May 14 at Marble Falls Middle School.
The Mustangs lost 81-52 to the D1 Ambassadors and 76-71 to the Killeen Scorpions.
"We had to play with a depleted lineup," said tournament director Bruce Etheridge, who also is the Mustangs head basketball coach. "There were a bunch of kids who enjoyed their opportunity to play."
Coach David President, who served as staff help during the tournament, said the difference between the tournament opener and the second game was comfort.
"In the first game when they stepped out on the court, there was uncertainty," he said. "Once they got into the flow of the game and realized we can play, they competed better."
