Lady Jackets basketball coach resigns
LLANO — Llano High School girls basketball coach Megan Simoneau resigned after one year of guiding the Lady Jackets.
Simoneau, who spent two years at Gatesville High School before accepting the job at Llano, resigned because of health and personal reasons, according to athletic director David Yeager.
"Me and coach (and girls athletic coordinator Shawn) Sweeten talked to her several times," he said. "I know there were some issues going on with her."
Simoneau promised the two she would finish the season and then talked to them after it ended, he said.
Simoneau was an assistant coach at Marble Falls High School when the Lady Mustangs advanced to the state tournament in 2006-07 before leaving for Gatesville.
