Lynn Roy Christy

Lynn Roy Christy, 81, of Meadowlakes, died April 9, 2010. He was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Belpre, Kan.

He was a unique man who had a keen love of life and through his gregarious nature developed many strong friendships, relatives said.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California Western University.

He was an elder and charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kan., until he moved to Houston in 1967.

He retired after 34 years from Texaco as personnel director of the Comptrollers Department corporate headquarters in White Plains, N.Y.

He moved back to Texas, to Fredericksburg, in 1990 and to Meadowlakes in 1995.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Georgina Christy of Meadowlakes; son Ron Christy of Wichita; grandson Cody Christy of Wichita; and sister Shirley Schaeben and husband Adrian of Independence, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his mother Violet and his stepfather Hank Steiben; first wife Doris Ann Wittman Christy; and broth Donald Christy.

A funeral mass will be held 9 a.m. May 1 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marble Falls.

His final resting place will be at the family plot at the Bazine, Kan., cemetery.
