Ansley to play in All-Star game

MARBLE FALLS — Marble Falls High School senior forward Lindsay Ansley might have played her final game for the Lady Mustangs, but the honors keep coming.

She was named to the Class 4A All-Region Team in Region 4.

Ansley also will play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game July 15.

The announcements were made by Lady Mustangs girls athletic coordinator and head basketball coach Stephanie Gamble.

Gamble said the invitation to play in the game was based on several criteria, including statistics.

Ansley will play for the Class 4A all-stars. The association sponsors all-star games for other classes.

Ansley averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds a contest.

Against Austin LBJ in the first round of the playoffs, Ansley scored 14 points in the first half to help Marble Falls build a slight lead.

The only answer the Lady Jags had for the senior was to double-team her.

As a four-year starter, she was a member of the Lady Mustangs state tournament team in 2006-07 and went to the regional tournament for three straight seasons.

The class of 2010 is the sixth straight group to go to the playoffs all four years of high school.

Gamble said Ansley is still deciding on a college to attend.

The senior forward is the latest Lady Mustang to be invited to play in an all-star game. Other all-stars include former standouts Katy Cooke, Morgan Shell, Katie Meador, Kelsey Ansley and Farren Fox.

All five players went on to play college basketball.
