Louis D. “L.D.” Long Jr., 65 of Round Rock died Feb. 22, 2010. He was born April 26, 1944, in Burnet to Louis Denton Long Sr. and Thelma (Coots) Long.

He was a salesman most of his life and in his later years worked as a security officer.  He was a past Master of T. Neal Porter Masonic Lodge No. 1354 A.F. & A.M. in Austin and enjoyed participating in Masonic lodge work.

He also enjoyed deer hunting and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Laurie of Round Rock; daughter Teresa and husband John Goff of Round Rock; son David and wife  Trina Long of Florence; sisters Geraldine Nix of Yuma, Ariz., and Ann Stewart of Georgetown;  brother Leslie Long of Ozona;  grandchildren April Schroeder, Amanda Schlapia, Andrea Long, Chance Goff, Ray Long, Shelbie Long and Chaney Goff;  great-grandchildren Ashlyn Uresti, Cailyn Uresti and Riley Schlapia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A family visitation was Feb. 25 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 E. Polk St. in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, followed by a Masonic graveside service and interment at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park near Burnet.
