Georgia Smarr

Georgia Smarr, 59, of Marble Falls died Oct. 8, 2012, in Austin following a lengthy illness. She was born on Sept. 1, 1953, in Long Island, N.Y., to John and Didi Callas Petro.

She married Jerry Smarr on Nov. 10, 2000, and they were just shy of celebrating their 12th anniversary.

She worked for Security State Bank and Home Corp. Mortgage and also was a lawyer’s assistant but cherished being a housewife the most.

She was always volunteering her time to worthy causes, including the Pet PALS store because of her love of taking care of little animals. She also loved dealing in antiques and participating in her sewing club.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother Didi Petro of Meadowlakes; brother Greg Petro of Lago Vista; sister JoAnn Petro of Meadowlakes; and nephew Dimitri Cliffton of College Station.

A memorial service is 3 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Vanderveer Street Church of Christ in Burnet.
