Betty Watkins
Betty Watkins, 92, of Kingsland and previously of Burnet died Oct. 9, 2012. She was born on Sept. 30, 1920, in Houston to Charles and Elizabeth Marie (Kohut) Brovec.
She married Tris Watkins on Nov. 1, 1941, in Conroe.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Ladies Alter Society, the Slovanska Podporujici Jednota Statu Texas lodge in Houston, the American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hoover Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include son Tris Watkins Jr. and wife Nancy of Blackstock, S.C.; daughters Andrea Westmoreland of Beeville and Gloria Haile and husband Jerry of Burnet; sister Annie Baker of Dallas; grandchildren Charlie, Bobby, Justin, Josh, Terry and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Kolbe, Keegan, Kori, Brady, Grayson and Kaesen; one niece and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; her parents; and one brother.
A rosary is 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767. Visitation follows at 6-8 p.m. A funeral service is 11 a.m. Oct. 12 at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Vandventer officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
