Mary Lou Hudgins

Mary Lou Hudgins, 74, of Burnet died Sept. 13, 2011. She was born in Burnet on Sept. 14, 1936, to Noel Bryan and Elizabeth (Ellett) Bryan.
When she was 2, her father Noel died. Her mother later married Clyde Hall, who became the father the young girl came to love and who raised her. She grew up in Burnet and attended school there, graduating with the Class of 1955.
She always looked forward to attending gatherings, reunions and visits with her classmates. In February 1953 she got married. On Jan. 30, 1954, she gave birth to her only child.
Her hobbies and interests were bowling (including serving as a board member of the Austin Bowling Association), photography, crochet work, painting, arts and crafts, shopping, and digging and collecting arrowheads with her brother Larry Hall.
She delighted in seeing family — especially at family reunions — and the gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed her work in real estate, movies with popcorn, eating out, cooking, sharing her life and travel, especially world travel during her husband’s military career.
She devoted her time to volunteer service with the Burnet County Fair & Rodeo Association and the Highland Lakes Association of Realtors, where she was a member since 1985.
She was honored as REALTOR of the Year in 1988. In 1993, she served as president of the board. She took pride in dedicating her time and experience as a mentor to others in the real estate community.
