Burnet’s Cavender named coach of the year; two Lady Dawgs selected to all-state teams

BURNET — A return trip to the Class 3A girls basketball regional tournament isn’t the only highlight of the year for the Burnet High School Lady Dawgs.

Head coach Mike Cavender was named the Dean Weese Class 3A Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, while senior Taryn Rosow was named to the academic all-state teams of the Texas Girls Coaches Association and the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, and senior Callie Haley was named to the TABC team.
