Faith basketball players honored at awards ceremony
MARBLE FALLS — Faith Academy basketball teams gathered one more time March 6 to honor players and coaches for the 2011-2012 seasons.
The Flames, who advanced to the playoffs for the first time in the history of their program, gave senior post Casey Clendennen the Heart and Hustle award.
The Lady Flames honored junior Bailey Brinkley with the Fighting Heart award for her encouragement and for being a good teammate.

Senior posts Brooke Field and Beth Ann Berkman, freshman guard Taylor Denton and Brinkley were each named first team all-District 5-2A in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.
Sophomores Joanna Piatek and Juliette Cherry were each named second team all-district, while junior Rebecca Graham and sophomore Kristen Cherry were honorable mention.
Field and Brinkely were named to the all-state team, while Denton was honorable mention.
Academic all-state honors went to Field, Berkman and Brinkley. Players had to maintain a 90 or above average, be named first team all-district and be either a junior or a senior.
Lady Flames head coach Jerry English closed the event by looking at the table where his players sat and said, "I’d go to battle with you any time."
