Lady Dawgs give coach his 400th career victory

BURNET — It really was that easy.
Needing a win and wanting to make a statement, the Burnet High School girls basketball team crushed Lampasas 60-43 Friday.
The Lady Dawgs (13-11, 2-1) knew head coach Mike Cavender needed one more victory for No. 400, and they didn’t disappoint.
The Lady Dawgs came out on fire, nailing three 3-pointers in the opening quarter to take a 23-5 lead behind the shooting of senior guards Kati Maldonado and Leah Cotton.
