Ardis Virginia Patterson, 83, of Llano died March 21, 2017

Ardis Virginia Patterson passed away March 21, 2017, in Llano, Texas, at the age of 83. She was born April 28, 1933, in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, to Carl Sorensen and Ruby (Banks).

Ardis was a resident of Llano for more than 40 years after com

ing from Burnet and was the previous owner of the Gingerbread House.

Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ruby Sorenson, and brother Connie Sorenson.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Fred Shaffer; sons, John D. Patterson and wife Maria and Steven C. Patterson and wife Cathy; daughter, Beth A. Cox; brother Sterling Sorenson and wife Sharron; grandchildren, Danielle Badridze (Cox) and husband Nodari Badridze, Ruby Patterson, Tori Patterson, Daniel Browning, Mason Patterson, Carson Patterson, and Olivia Patterson; Nancy Patterson, mother of Ruby and Tori; extended family members Ken and Kathy Shaffer and Keith and Gina Shaffer along with all of their children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ardis was a loving companion, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was devoted to the love of her life, Fred, for more than 35 years. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and was an active participant in all of their lives. She loved cooking, sharing recipes, reading, and attending her beloved church, First Presbyterian of Llano.

Ardis was a strong woman with an incredible sense of humor. Her infectious laugh filled every room she was in. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all of those close to her heart.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
