William Carroll “Bill” Coker, 83, of Bertram passed away March 18, 2017. He was born July 30, 1933, in Gorman to William Floyd and Gladys Steele Coker.
Bill is survived by his sons, Mack Coker and Ron Coker and wife Adrienne, all of Bertram; grandson, Kasey Coker of Bertram; and granddaughter, Jessica Coker and husband Kirt Greenacre of Hutto.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Coker.
Bill was a Korean War veteran who served in the Air Force and a Mason for many years. He retired from IBM after many years in the space program and worked security in Austin. He also was a lifelong amateur musician who loved old time and country music and the many years playing music with family and friends.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. March 23 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A funeral service is 10 a.m. March 24 at First Baptist Church in Bertram with Brother Gordon officiating. Interment is 3 p.m. March 24 at Stag Creek Cemetery in Sidney.
