Myrtle M. Kimbrough HazlewoodMyrtle M. Kimbrough Hazlewood, 89, of Highland Haven, Texas, passed away March 17, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born to Lonnie D. and Bessie (Austin) Moore on Feb. 3, 1928, in Wilson, Texas, in Lynn County.

Myrtle graduated from Tahoka High School in Tahoka, Texas, and from Scoggins Beauty Academy in Abilene. In her later years, she worked in the medical field. She was one of 10 children growing up in West Texas.

Myrtle is survived by her husband, Billy Hazlewood of Highland Haven; daughters, Mary Tillman and husband Edmond of Kingsland, Karen Griffin and husband Larry of Odessa, and Valerie Cook and husband Dale of Kingsland; son, Randy Kimbrough and wife Karel of Irving; grandchildren, Todd Tillman, Karey Drew, Michelle Fields, and Larry Griffin Jr.; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters Ruby Goforth and Billie Yaws; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrytle was preceded in death by her parents and seven of her siblings.

Visitation is 12:30 p.m. March 20 at Highland Lakes Church of Christ. A funeral service follows at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Llano City Cemetery. Joe Winnett will officiate.

Pallbears are Edmond Tillman, Todd Tillman, Dale Cook, Larry Griffin Sr., Larry Griffin Jr., and Ken Darnell.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Cherokee Home for Children, P.O. Box 295, Cherokee, TX 76832.
