Marble Falls-Dripping Spring game has playoff implications
MARBLE FALLS — Just like other seasons, this year’s Marble Falls-Dripping Springs high school football game has playoff hopes attached to it.
The two tangle 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Mustang Stadium, 2101 Mustang Drive.
If the Tigers (6-2, 3-1) win, they secure third place with previous wins against Leander Vandegrift, Leander Rouse and Cedar Park Vista Ridge. After Marble Falls, Dripping Springs has one more game remaining in the regular season, a home finale against Cedar Park High on Oct. 28. They have a bye Nov. 4.
But if Marble Falls (1-2, 4-3) can extend its winning streak to three straight against the Tigers, the Mustangs will remain in the playoff picture.
“They know they have an opportunity to clinch some things and finish some things up,” Mustang head coach Cord Woerner said. “We have an opportunity to stay in the hunt and take care of our business. It’s going to be a good ballgame.
