Karen N. (Kauppi) LeBlanc, 72, died peacefully May 24, 2016, in Marble Falls, Texas.
She grew up in Ironwood in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She then enjoyed time in California and New Hampshire before finally settling in the Texas Hill Country.
Karen was born Oct. 20, 1943, in Ironwood, Michigan, a daughter of Walter and Margaret (Rowe) Kauppi, and attended the Ironwood area schools. She was known as a wonderful singer. She enjoyed reading, writing, listening to music, and caring for her cats. She also loved birds, flowers and plants.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret (Rowe) Kauppi; sister, Cristine (Kauppi) Wolff and husband Bruce Northup; two children, Adam LeBlanc and fiancé Jennifer Wilk and his children Bradley and Erica LeBlanc, and Tracey (LeBlanc) Collins and husband Jake and their children Jackie and Brendan Collins and Katherine and Michael Coble.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Kauppi.
The family would like to thank Mary Christian, who provided assistance and friendship over the past few years. They would also like to thank the entire staff at Granite Mesa Nursing Home in Marble Falls for the wonderful care, concern and personal attention they provided Karen and her family.
A private ceremony is being planned.
