FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — For about three decades, the Blue Bonnet Cafe has tucked away its regular menu for a couple of hours twice a year to help out a group of local first responders.

And on March 4 from 4-8 p.m., the venerable diner is doing it again for the biannual Marble Falls Area EMS Fish Fry. The dinners — which feature catfish and all the fixings — are $8 a plate for people 6 and older and $3 for children 5 and younger.

Money raised during the event helps support the Marble Falls Area EMS, which provides emergency medical service to a wide swath of southern Burnet County and Marble Falls.

“We have 42 employees, so you can imagine the training and continuing education for those employees is pretty significant,” said EMS executive director Johnny Campbell.

Campbell praised the owners of the Blue Bonnet Cafe, John and Belinda Kemper, as well as the diner’s staff for their willingness to support the Marble Falls Area EMS with the two fish fries each year.

The restaurant is located at 281 U.S. 281, just north of the bridge over Lake Marble Falls.

People can dine in or take out. For take-out orders, call (830) 693-2444.
