Llano goes 4-4 at Round Rock Westwood Tournament

ROUND ROCK — The Llano High School volleyball team finished the Round Rock Westwood Tournament with a 4-4 record Aug. 16-17.

The Lady Jackets (4-5) defeated Temple, Austin St. Dominic Savio, Laredo Nixon and Navasota but lost to Westwood, Seguin, Texas Military Institute Episcopal and Gatesville.

The biggest benefit of the tournament, according to Lady Jackets head coach John Black, is he could see his players coming together as a team and certain athletes stepping into leadership roles.

“We started gaining more confidence in each other and more confidence with me,” he said. “I think we’re about where I expected us to be, maybe a little ahead.”

Llano goes to the Gatesville Tournament on Aug. 22 and 24.
