BURNET — Western-themed visual artists  and western vendors  are invited to participate in the second annual Burnet Cultural Arts Festival Oct. 9–11. 

Artists are asked to enter the Western Heritage Juried Art Competition Oct. 9. Deadline for entries is Sept. 8, officials said. 

The contest is open to artists 18 years and older who have completed original works of art from January 2007 to the present. Accepted mediums include watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil or ink drawings, pastels, gouache, alkyd, tempera, mixed media and colored pencil. Prizes will be awarded.

In addition to the juried art show for adults, young artists from kindergarten to 12th grade can display their talents at the BCAF First Annual Children’s Art Exhibit and Competition Oct. 10 and Oct. 11. 

Only two-dimensional work keeping with the Western heritage theme will be accepted in this competition.
