Daily Tribune will be launching home delivery starting Sept. 2
Paper will be brought straight to your driveway or mailbox first thing in the morning; get the news first
MARBLE FALLS — Mornings in the Highland Lakes just got a lot better with home delivery of The River Cities Daily Tribune, the only locally produced daily newspaper covering your community, your schools, your sports and your life.
Beginning Sept. 2, The Daily Tribune — the sister newspaper of the weekly Picayune — will be delivered by carriers to area homes by 6 a.m. during the week and 7 a.m. Saturday.
Subscribers accustomed to getting the paper in the mail will now find their Daily Tribune in their driveway or by their mailbox first thing in the morning.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to offer home delivery of The Daily Tribune,” said Amber Weems, president of the family-operated Victory Publishing Co. Ltd., which owns The Daily Tribune, among other products. “My family and this company have always been dedicated to delivering the best products to our readers and advertisers.”
Now subscribers will get to read their local daily paper with their morning coffee. They will know the news before they head off to work, school or play.
On Saturday, they will get all the details of the games from the night before.
“We’re excited about the fact The Daily Tribune is going to come right to readers’ homes,” said Kathy Kasparek, circulation director. “It’s the first time a local paid-subscription paper in this area has done this.”
“Home delivery is part of our commitment to deliver the most fresh, accurate and timely news to our readers,” added Thomas Edwards, editor.
In the meantime, subscribers outside the Highland Lakes will receive their papers on a weekly basis bundled as bulk mail. The first mailing goes out Sept. 10 and will include all the papers from the week of Sept. 4. After that, each Wednesday the prior full week’s papers will be mailed out.
Subscriptions are $72 a year for the paper, published Tuesday through Saturday.
If you do not get your paper after Sept. 2, call (830) 693-7152. If you live in Marble Falls, the paper will be re-delivered that day. Outside the area, subscribers receive a day’s credit on their subscription.
If you have questions, call Brenda Gumbert, subscription manager, at the same number.
And if you have a news tip, call and ask for the newsroom.
The paper also will still be available at area newspaper racks, businesses and other venues.
Founded in 1995 as a news weekly, the Daily Tribune became a daily more than two years ago. This summer, it was named the best small daily newspaper in the state by the Texas Press Association.
Other Victory publications include The Highland Lakes Business Journal, 101 Fun Things to do in the Highland Lakes and the Picayune Area-Wide Phone Book.
The office is at 1007 Ave. K.
