Highland Art Gallery & Guild hosts demo and workshops with painter
MARBLE FALLS — Artist Rae Andrews will demonstrate her medium, pastel on sanded paper or board, at the Highland Art Gallery & Guild 9:30 a.m. Sept. 18.

Andrews describes herself as a colorist and loves movement in her work. Water is a constant theme, as are animals, especially horses.
“All things in nature,” she said.
Other mediums she uses are watercolor, oils, acrylics and charcoal.
Andrews has a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and a post-graduate degree in professional art studies from the City Art Institute in Sydney. She had more than 30 years experience as a teacher there and in Maui, Hawaii.
She moved to Austin five years ago.
Visitors are welcome at the demo and a light lunch will be served afterwards. A two- or three-day workshop with Andrews will be offered at the gallery to interested artists.
Other upcoming workshops include Angie Banta Brown of New Braunfuls, who will hold an oils workshop Sept. 22 – 23; and Betty Beisler’s intermediate workshop Oct. 8-10.
