Silent auction to benefit the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance

MARBLE FALLS — Celebrate the arts Saturday when the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance presents “Another Man’s Treasure,” a silent auction to benefit the Alliance.

The group manages the Uptown Marble Theater and develops and presents a diverse schedule of events for the downtown area.

“We are working to support the visual and performing arts in Marble Falls,” said sponsor Bill Rives. “This includes the Sculpture on Main, the Blues and Fine Arts festival in spring, and Paint the Town, a plein air art event, as well as the Uptown Marble Theatre.”

In addition, at the end of summer the Alliance, in cooperation with the Harmony School of Creative Arts, presents a classical music series week with instructors and performers from all over the  United States.

“There will be instruction during the day with performances in the evening,” Rives said.

Silent auction items include artwork donated by residents and local artists, antiques and special wines with some bottles autographed by Hill Country vintners.

“This is a fun way for people to share their treasures with the community, find bargains and benefit the Arts Alliance,” he said.

The event begins with a preview of items from noon – 3 p.m, followed by the auction from 3 – 6 p.m.  Phone bids are accepted. The event is at 202 Main St. in the former Falls on the Bistro location.
