BURNET — A Landowners Workshop Series from Oct. 9-30 offers insight on land-management strategies, officials said. 

All seminars begin at 6 p.m and are held at the Burnet County Fairgrounds, located on Ellen Halbert Drive just behind the Burnet Municipal Airport on U.S. 281 South.

The brush control workshop is Oct. 9. Learn about chemical and cultural control methods to manage prickly pear, cedar, mesquite and other brush species that infest  property and receive one continuing-education unit for a pesticide applicators license.

On Oct. 14, learn how to control internal and external parasites infesting sheep and goats. The program includes a laboratory where participants look for internal parasites through fecal samples from personal flocks of goats or sheep at the Small Livestock Parasite Control Workshop. Attendees can receive one CEU for pesticide applicators license. 

Learn how to design, construct and seal a stock pond at the Small Pond Renovation and Construction Workshop Oct. 28.

On Oct. 30, the Wildlife Management Workshop teaches audience members how to attract and manage wildlife on private property. 

This program includes information on a wildlife exemption for property taxes.

The educational programs are free.
