Marble Falls library recipient of grant for Picturing America

MARBLE FALLS — If a picture speaks a thousand words, then those words are being spoken loudly at the Marble Falls Public Library with the Picturing America exhibit through the end of the month.

The library was one of many across the nation that received a grant from the Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association for the exhibit, officials said.

“Picturing America introduces people of every age to our nation’s history and culture through great works of American art,” said library director Mary Jackson. “The program provides library visitors an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of our country’s history and character through the visualization of art.”

Jackson said Picturing America illustrates the nation’s artistic heritage through pictures of paintings, sculptures, architecture, fine crafts and photography, and offers unique insight into the character, ideals and aspirations of America.

“Please take a few moments to view this beautiful exhibit of American art at the Marble Falls Library,” Jackson said.

The library is located at 101 Main St. For more, call (830) 693-3023.
