Coffee with a cop in Horseshoe Bay

Horseshoe Bay police will host Coffee with a Cop at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the City Center, 9101 W. FM 2147.

The event will feature a new format following the inaugural gathering in June, which drew about 100 residents. Officers from different divisions, including criminal investigations, patrol and dispatch, will staff separate tables.

“The new format will allow for more one-on-one interaction between citizens and officers,” Police Chief Paul Nelson told DailyTrib. “Our residents can tailor their questions to each department and can express their concerns more privately, if needed.”

Residents can drop in at any time to ask about local traffic laws, learn about efforts to prevent fraud and identity theft, raise safety concerns or learn more about the department’s daily work in the community.

“The first event was very laid back and helped citizens feel relaxed, which made for a very positive meeting,” Nelson said. “We hope this event is just as comfortable and constructive for our residents.”

Free coffee and pastries will be provided. RSVPs are being accepted at csharp@horseshoe-bay-tx.gov.
