Earne ‘Tootie’ Peters Pollard
Earne “Tootie” Peters Pollard, 92, of Sunrise Beach died Sept. 29, 2010. She was born July 30, 1918, to Joseph and Justine (Dinger) Peters in San Antonio.
She married James A. Pollard Jr. in 1937 and became a devoted wife and loving mother.
She was a member of the Bexar Chapter No. 616 Order of the Eastern Star, Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Sunrise Beach Federated Church.
She was an avid fundraiser for the fire department and was known in the community for her lemon pies.
Survivors include children James Pollard III and wife Bonnie of San Antonio, Judith Scruggs of Kingsland, Thomas Pollard and wife Connie and Sheri Pollard of Fresno, Calif.; grandchildren Dr. Gregory Pollard and wife Heather, and Julie Morris and husband Michael; and great-grandchildren Cade Pollard, Evan Morris and Alissa Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters Martha McBride, Margaret Mitchell and Josie Peters.
A memorial service was Oct. 4 at the Sunrise Beach Federated Church with the Rev. Tim Koening officiating.
Interment is noon Oct. 5 in San Antonio at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Glenn Hoffman officiating and the Order of the Eastern Star.
