Camp Agape is accepting applications for its 2026 four-day summer camp. The organization’s grief camp, taking place June 1-4 at Morgan’s Camp in San Antonio, helps children ages 7-12 work through the loss of a parent or sibling while finding joy.
Due to limited space and typical interest, families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible ahead of the May 15 deadline. Camp Agape is free to families, however a $100 refundable deposit is required to secure a space. Financial assistance will be available to ensure every child possible can attend. Apply online at www.campagapetexas.org.
Camp Agape is a four-day grief camp dedicated to helping children ages 7–12 heal after the loss of a parent or sibling. Founded in Burnet, Texas, and now hosted at Morgan’s Camp in San Antonio, the program combines play, connection, and guided support to help children leave camp with renewed hope, practical tools for processing grief, and lasting friendships that extend beyond the camp experience.
The camp experience includes traditional summer camp activities such as swimming, games, and creative expression, paired with intentional grief support moments. These guided sessions are led by trained volunteers and grief coaches who help children share their stories in age-appropriate ways while building trust and connection with peers who understand their experience.
“Camp Agape is more than just a camp – it’s a place where kids realize they are not alone,” Summer Camp Director Alaina Wood said in a media release. “In just four days, we see children begin to open up, build confidence, and experience moments of joy again. That transformation is powerful, not just for the children, but for the families who see hope restored.”
