Help clear kennels at Hill Country Humane Society adoption event

The Hill Country Humane Society is partially waiving adoption fees from May 1-17 during the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s 10th anniversary Empty the Shelters event.
The shelter will offer $10 adoption fees for dogs over 15 pounds and $50 fees for cats, kittens, and puppies. All furry friends will receive age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies shots, microchipping, deworming, and will be spayed or neutered free of charge.
HCHS, located at 9150 RR 1431 West in Buchanan Dam, is open daily from noon to 6 p.m. A CAT-alogue of adoptable pets can be found online here.
“This is not just an adoption special,” Executive Director of Hill Country Humane Society Paighton Corley said. “This is lifesaving space. Every time an animal leaves our shelter for a loving home, another animal has a place to go when they need help. That is what makes events like this so important.”
HCHS encourages those considering adoption to take a visit to the shelter and meet the available pets to help give a shelter animal a second chance.
For more than a decade, BISSELL has helped shelters across the country reduce fees by sponsoring adoptions and get pets out of kennels and into loving homes. Since launching in 2016, the event has helped nearly 400,000 pets find families. This year, more than 335 shelters across 39 states are participating.
