One killed in Texas 71 collision
One driver was killed in a head-on collision the morning of Saturday, Dec. 27, on Texas 71 near CR 408 in Burnet County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 45-year-old Carter Douglas Caroom, of Spicewood, was driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a tractor hauling a trailer.
Caroom was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor was injured and taken to a local hospital according to DPS.
The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was available.
